The 10 Commandments Project - Children Memory Project

Success and failure are determined by character. Character is developed by thoughts and actions. The 10 COMMANDMENTS are the standards by which character is judged. Everyone should memorize the 10 COMMANDMENTS…especially children. CHARACTER ALWAYS HAS CONSEQUENCES

We teach The TEN COMMANDMENTS because we believe God's Word. "God's Word will not return void. It will accomplish that for which it is intended."

God's power to shape the future is already here. GOD'S POWER IS IN HIS WORD. It is important that children know and live The TEN COMMANDMENTS. The TEN COMMANDMENTS teach us how to live victoriously before God and our neighbors. You can be sure that as a boy, Jesus memorized and lived The TEN COMMANDMENTS.

George Kelley

George Kelley says, "It's important that children know what is acceptable behavior and what is unacceptable behavior. It is of primary importance for them to know that in Western Civilization, our idea of what is right and what is wrong comes from the Ten Commandments. These commandments are the cornerstone of western ethics, western law and western morality". He further adds, "Success and failure are determined by character. Character is developed by thoughts and actions. Even though we may not think about it, The Ten Commandments are the standard by which character is judged. The hard cold facts of life are that the secret of being successful and getting ahead is hard work, responsibility, the rule of law and private property rights. The 8th commandment states; 'Thy shall not steal,' presupposing the right to own private property, which is the basis of our free enterprise system. The character of a child is important to the future of the American economy and the moral well-being of our nation - character does count!"

At 72 years of age, George Kelley is dedicating the next ten years of his life to the Ten Commandments Project. With a passioned voice, he proclaims, "I believe it is the will of God that leads me to do all I can to change the direction in which the culture is headed. God takes me, guides me, marks out the road for me, measures the distance for me, upholds me and gives me strength in this life to do what I believe is His Will. And I believe it is His Will that children learn The 10 Commandments".

How it works...
When children request information, the "Memorization Affidavit" form is mailed to them. This affidavit is filled out with the child's name, address and signature to state they have memorized and recited The Ten Commandments to an authorized witness. The authorized witness can be a pastor, priest, rabbi, church school teacher, public or private school teacher, elected government official, a qualified candidate for public office or a person authorized by the Ten Commandment's staff. The authorized witness also fills out their section of the affidavit to validate the genuineness of the efforts. The Memorization Affidavit is then mailed to the Ten Commandments Project. On receiving the affidavit, the Ten Commandments Project mails a personal letter to that child that reads:

10 Commandments for Children

We are told to teach the them to children. In Deuteronomy Chapter 5, The moral laws are listed, and then in the following chapter 6, the importance of teaching them to your child is emphasized:

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Proverbs 3:1
My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,

Deuteronmy 6:8(LXX) "And you shall affix them for a sign upon your hand, and it shall be unshaken before your eyes."

Deuteronomy 11:18(LXX) "And you shall put these words into your heart, and into your soul, and you shall affix them for a sign upon your hand, and it shall be unshaken before your eyes."

Asaleutos is also found twice in the New Covenant Scriptures, in Acts 27:41, and Hebrews 12:28. The King James translates asaleutos as "unmoveable," and "cannot be moved."

Acts 27:41 "And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves."

Hebrews 12:28 "Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:"
